Description

Node Operator Mechanisms (NOM) is a contributor workstream responsible for helping the Lido DAO and the wider node operator community research, define, adopt, and collaboratively implement policies and procedures around node operator registry management, node operator onboarding, node operations, and protocol performance and health.

NOM is looking for a Junior Operations Analyst to work with the rest of the workstream and other stakeholders to facilitate the above. Applicants should ideally be quick learners, effective communicators, and self-sufficient. The ideal contributor is comfortable in a highly unstructured environment and can manage multiple threads simultaneously.

Lido DAO contributors and stakeholders are spread throughout the globe, so hours vary, but most meetings occur between 08:00 and 14:00 UTC. You will be working with contributors who are leaders and experts in a burgeoning field. You will interact with a wide array of stakeholders from leading blockchain ecosystems, especially Ethereum, and be engaged in technical matters from both a protocol mechanisms perspective and an infrastructure perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of NOM activities, including but not limited to:
    • Interacting with the Node Operator community to help Node Operators understand how to interact with the Lido protocol.
    • Helping organize Node Operator application and onboarding rounds and operator testnets.
    • Monitoring Node Operator performance, raising alarms and escalating appropriately and timely with relevant parties.
    • Gathering and analyzing data from various sources (internal and external), helping develop models, reports, and dashboards.
    • Maintaining databases related to Node Operators, including the open Node Operator Portal (https://operatorportal.lido.fi/.)
    • Writing and publishing articles, reports, and analyses on Node Operator statistics, performance, and metrics.
    • Keeping up to date with developments in the Ethereum and DeFi ecosystems, specifically related to (re)-staking (and protocol changes), LSTs in DeFi, etc.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely task completion.
  • Represent Lido NOM in industry working groups and at industry conferences.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and cross-workstream collaboration.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in an external stakeholder-facing role; strong candidates will either be generalists or have experience in roles where they could blend technical knowledge with customer interaction (e.g., audit, consulting, developer relations, supply chain & operations, etc.)
  • Ideally, holding prior experience operating a Proof of Stake validator and a general awareness of how nodes are set up.
  • A basic understanding of Proof of Stake protocols, especially Ethereum, and a desire to develop this area of knowledge further.
  • Strong stakeholder management and skills in both internal and external settings.
  • Very strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of data synthesis, analysis, and computer languages (e.g. python, SQL, JavaScript/typescript, scripting, etc.) would be hugely beneficial in automating routine activities and improving tooling.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to zoom in/out of detail as needed, depending on the circumstance and challenge at hand.
  • Knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including basic modelling, customer service and content production.
