Description

The HFP Political team is hiring a Disability Engagement Director who will provide strategic advice and guidance as it relates to reaching, engaging, and mobilizing the disabled voters community, partners, and members. The Director will work with partners across the campaign and with key stakeholders to manage and build critical relationships, and engage with trusted messengers to reach individuals where they are at, and mobilize members across the Democratic ecosystem to take action and enthusiastically elect Vice President Harris and her running mate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops national coalition programming & assets in partnership with other campaign departments to achieve campaign strategy goals.
  • Serves as strategist and consultant in strategic meetings focused on engaging voters with disabilities.
  • Convenes interdepartmental stakeholders focused on voter engagement in the disability community.
  • Serves as consultant to states & HQ departments on voter engagement strategies for people w/ disabilities.
  • Travels as surrogate to states for coalition-based events & convenings as needed.
  • Speaks as campaign spokesperson & trainer on coalition-related surrogate training events.
  • Builds and manages relationships as a convener and point person with national coalition leaders supporting their onboarding into impactful campaign activities supportive of campaign strategy.
  • Organize support with key messengers to support battleground states.
  • Execute rapid response activities aligned with the direction of the Coalitions Director and Political Director.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Political relationship and coalition management skills, in particular a proven track record and experience in engaging disability led advocacy and voter engagement organizations in a state or nationally.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience managing campaign or issue advocacy efforts that focused on engaging the disability community.
  • Public speaking and comfort in building new relationships.
  • Innovative thinker, self-starter, and collaborative organizer.
  • Accountable to deadlines, detail oriented, and a clear communicator.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort in building consensus.
  • A team player that recognizes the importance of working collaboratively and communicating at a high level with their teammates.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to balance rapid response needs with focused program implementation.
