Introduction to Yahoo Japan Auction
Yahoo Japan Auction is one of the largest online auction platforms in Japan, offering opportunities to find rare and limited-edition items at potentially lower prices than retail.

However, participating in Yahoo Japan Auction comes with challenges: you need a Japanese address (no forwarding services allowed), and you must pay to become a Yahoo member to join the bidding. Additionally, the entire website is in Japanese, making it difficult for non-Japanese speakers to navigate.
If you find desirable items but can’t bid due to these obstacles, relying on private agents or Taobao purchases can feel risky without after-sales support.
This is where OneMall comes in as an officially certified agent for Yahoo Japan Auction. With a OneMall account, you can easily and effortlessly participate in online auctions from anywhere, alleviating all your concerns!

Advantages:
- Prices can be significantly lower than those found in online stores.
- There is a wide variety of products, making it ideal for collectors.
- Has a robust seller rating and review system, making it easier for users to choose reputable sellers and reduce the risk of scams.
- It supports the use of proxy purchasing platforms, enabling overseas users to easily purchase auction items.
Disadvantages:
- You cannot cancel a bid once it has been placed.
- Auction times are not fixed, so users need to monitor them regularly.
- If there are any issues, returns and refunds are not available.
How to Get Started with Yahoo Japan Auctions
Search for the item you want to bid on and click on “Yahoo Japan Auctions.”

On the auction search page, you will see the following information: the auction name, item condition (new or used), auction end time, and current price.
Some items have a “Bid Now” option, which means you can purchase the item immediately. You can also use filters to help you quickly find the desired items.

You can add your desired items to your favorites.
Friendly Reminder: Before placing a bid, please check the following information:
- Item Condition – Ensure you verify whether the item is new, used, or defective before bidding.
- End Time – Make sure you have enough time to add funds to your account for the auction.
- Bidding History – This indicates the popularity of the item among buyers. If there are many bids, winning the auction will certainly be more difficult.
- Domestic Shipping Costs – If not mentioned in the description, it means the seller will include it after the purchase.

About Bidding
Bidding rules
- The bid is placed using a credit card pre-authorization. The corresponding amount will only be charged to your card if you successfully win the auction.
- If you’ve found an item you love, we recommend avoiding very low bids to increase your chances of winning.
- The status of your bid will be reflected in your order details. If your pre-authorized bid amount is outbid, we will automatically refund the pre-authorization. If your pre-authorized amount remains the highest by the end of the auction, you will win the item, and we will charge your card for the final winning bid amount. Any updates to the auction status will be communicated via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox.
Buy at a fixed price
Some items have a “Buy Now” button, which allows you to purchase the item directly without bidding.

Regular Bidding
It is set based on your maximum bid (your highest acceptable price). If other members place bids, the price will automatically increase by the minimum increment until it reaches your maximum bid. Once it reaches your maximum bid, the system will automatically refund the difference (please note that once a bid is successfully placed, the amount is non-refundable).
For example:
If the current displayed price of the item is 6,000 yen and your maximum acceptable price is 10,000 yen, the system will automatically record this. After that, other users begin to bid, and the price will automatically increase by the minimum increment of 100 yen (note that the minimum increment varies based on the item’s price). If the final bid reaches 8,600 yen without exceeding your maximum bid of 10,000 yen, the displayed price will be 8,600 yen, and you will still be the highest bidder. If no other bidders place bids before the auction ends, you will win the item for 8,600 yen.
However, if other bidders continue to bid and exceed 10,000 yen, with a bid of 11,000 yen, you will no longer be the highest bidder, and the system will issue a refund to you.

Scheduled Bidding (Proxy Bidding, Automatic Bidding in the Last 7 Minutes)
Prerequisite: Generally, the winning rate for placing bids before the auction ends is high. However, sellers may set the auction to automatically extend the bidding time if there are new bids in the last 7 minutes. When you enable scheduled bidding, the system will automatically place a bid 7 minutes before the auction ends.
If other bidders place the same bid, the first bidder will win the item based on the first-come, first-served principle of Yahoo Auctions.
