What Language Is Spoken In Switzerland?

Switzerland has four official languages:

  1. German (spoken by about 62% of the population) - Predominantly in the central and eastern regions.
  2. French (spoken by about 23%) - Mainly in the western regions, near France.
  3. Italian (spoken by about 8%) - In the southern region of Ticino and parts of Graubünden.
  4. Romansh (spoken by about 0.5%) - A minority language spoken in parts of Graubünden.

Most Swiss people are multilingual and can often communicate in at least two of these languages.
